UC-win/Road
is a real-time VR program that allows generation and use of 3-D
virtual reality (VR) through simple PC operations. Dynamic 3-D
spaces can be controlled in real-time and the program can be
used not only for road planning and designing, but as a common
language for those involved in consensus building in public
projects and private developments of a general nature. The
superb VR generation features such as abundant visual options,
and running and flight simulations in diverse modes, are
supported. The VR of UC-win/Road is highly effective in
landscape evaluation, discussion of designs and construction,
examination of comparative ideas, and technical propositions. |

Well-contrived VR generation features and operability. Enhanced
presentation features.

Features and advantages of the program |
50m mesh altitude
(nationwide)/2500 spatial data infrastructure are
included. Other useful features include an optional
landform feature, a world geographic coordinate altering
feature, DXF-XML conversion, and a landform editing
feature.
Authorized by Geographical
Survey Institute (#173, year 2000): 50m mesh altitude
(nationwide)/ 2500 spatial data infrastructure
(Tokyo/Osaka)
Authorized world geographic coordinate altering tool:

Diverse line shapes such as roads, rivers,
lakes, flight paths can be input by parameters
or freehand, automatically generating roads,
tunnels, bridges, and rivers.
Configuration of road
horizontal alignment (supporting clothoid/spline),
tunnel zone, and bridge zone with the
longitudinal line shape definition are
available. With the cross section definition,
cutting and banking soil with consideration for
small bumps and texture processing are
available, allowing simple generation of
complicated road structures with line
shape/cross sectional features.
|
|
 |
|
The flat surface
cross point and onoff-ramp features allow easy
expression of roads. 3-D VR traffic simulation
is available by just setting up the shapes of
intersection, traffic routes, and traffic light
control.

With appropriate standard models/textures and
abundant download DB, effective creation of VR
data is supported.
In addition to the
standard data such as 3-D model textures,
exuberant downloads are available directly from
UC-win/RoadDB on the Internet. Also, useful
editing/movement tools are available, allowing
scaling up and down, moving, leaning, and
arrangement of the models. Action setting offers
generation and motion control of the motion
models.

VR
presentations can be performed through simple PC
operations, supporting the presenter with the
Before/After comparison feature and scripting.
For the driving mode, diverse modes (car speed,
changing lanes, viewpoint height, viewpoint
change in 8 directions) are supported, as well
as the dynamic movement of viewpoint (viewpoint
from other cars, upward/downward viewpoints,
head turns). For the flying mode, automatic
flight through flight route setting (supporting
3-D on-screen editing) and walk-through are
available. Optional landforms and right/left
traffic are supported for foreign users.
|
|
 |
Diverse visual representations by Visual Options
Tool. Traffic simulation with traffic
obstruction is also feasible.
Also available are
real-time control of time, weather, and
lighting, and generation of traffic streams
based on traffic volume, vehicle profiles,
traffic light configurations, and traffic
obstructions with disasters and accidents.
