| Which portal program
is not just for portals, has a superb Windows interface and three design methods? The
answer's QUIKPORT 2000, just about
the most useful
program for elastic and plastic design of frames to BS5950.
In addition to elastic and elastic-plastic
methods, it incorporates a unique optimising routine based on linear
programming techniques. With no restrictions on frame geometry
other than its ten span limit, QUIKPORT 2000 will
deliver the goods where other programs fail. Brilliant new
version with intelligent wizard technology for automatic design and checking. Now includes
BS6399:PT 2 wind-loading. We'll be updating these pages shortly
but please contact us now for further details.

| QUIKPORT
has just about every
feature you could ever
want in a portal program. Uniquely, it has
elastic,
elastic-plastic and rigorous minimum weight plastic design-all in the one program. So whatever
your preference,
whatever the frame geometry, QUIKPORT
will deliver the
goods where other programs fail.
Because it imposes no
restrictions on frame geometry, QUIKPORT
handles a much
wider variety of frames than any other plastic design
program. In addition to single-span, multi-span, propped or tied
portals, it can be used for any
2D frame subject only
to limitations of size (no. of members) and the plastic
design method itself.
Like all QUIKSOFT programs, QUIKPORT
is outstandingly
easy to use. Just sketch the frame, sketch the loading, choose
your analysis/design method and view the results.
Helpful advice is just a keyclick away.
QUIKPORT's
unique object mode allows you to drag' n drop, edit or
copy
any structural element faster and easier than ever before.
Save your alternative designs in QUIKPORT's own
project-based filing system. Compare prices using its
built-in price calculator. |

| QuikPort belongs to the QuikSoft
family of computer programs for structural analysis and
steel design.
QuikPort can be used for both
DESIGN of new frames and the ANALYSIS of
pre-designed frames. When used to design, the program
automatically selects suitable sections. In both cases
proper STABILITY checks are available for each member
using sections 4.8 and Appendix G of BS5950. Reactions
and deflections are available at working load.
QuikPort implemets the
following design/analysis methods.
- Linear elastic analysis
- Plastic analysis using the
elastic plastic method
- Plastic minimum weight
design
QuikPort is a WYSIWYG (What
You See Is What You Get) multi-span portal frame design
program. QuikPort has NO RESTRICTIONS on the
types of geometry it can handle. It properly deals
with a far larger variety of frames than any other available
program. Consider the following:-
- Multi-span portal (with or
without haunches)
- Multi-span portal with
differing eaves heights
- Mono pitch portals single
or multi span
- Propped portals
- Tied portals
- Non symmetrical frames
with any loading
- Buildings with cranes
- Canopies
- Lean To's
QuikPort is the most
productive and easy to use Portal frame design program
available. The program eliminates the need to
pre-calculate information or work with tricky sign
conventions.
Instead the program uses a
simple graphical method of creating geometry using a minimal
set of construction tools. Members, bases, purlins,
haunches andloads are then added by clicking nearest to
construction lines and points, The direction of loads is
indicated by clicking to one side or the other with the
mouse. The user is always confident that his input is
correct, because he sees it on the screen.
In short, QuikPort is
designed for the Windows environment making the very best
use of the features and power of this new operating system. |
